The mission statement of the school takes its inspiration from the philosophy and traditions of the Dominican Sisters who founded the school in 1846.

Religious instruction is an important part of the school curriculum. There is a school chaplain who assists in the preparation for liturgical services. First Communion and Confirmation services are highlights in the school calendar.

Staff members endeavour to keep abreast of developments in the education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing by enhancing their professional knowledge and skills.
