Junior Certificate Results (September-2008)
The Junior Certificate results this year are among the best we have ever had in the school. Well done to all staff and students!
A total of 15 students took papers in English, Maths, History, Geography, French, Art, Business Studies, Home Economics, Science, C.S.P.E., and E.S.S., at Higher, Ordinary and Foundation levels. Grade C or higher was obtained in 82% of the papers taken at higher level and in 86% of all papers taken. All grades at all levels were D or higher- not one single grade E! In brief, students achieved a total of 15 grade A's, 36 grade B's, 53 grade C's and 16 grade D's. These excellent results reflect very well on the many years of dedicated and professional work of the teachers at the school and on the determination and hard work of the students. Extra-curricular activities, pastoral care, physical education and S.P.H.E.(social, personal and health education) have also been of great importance in the development and nurturing of these students, in line with the mission statement and ethos of St. Mary's School.
