Green School (February-2011)
We're trying to get a Green Flag for St. Mary's School. There are 7 steps in the process, and we're on step 1
We have a Green School Committee, and we've had a committee meeting; you can see it in these pictures.
We've already achieved a lot of changes. We're trying to get people to be aware of reducing, reusing and recycling. We've introduced compost bins for some foods and we have a rota for collecting paper bins for recycling.
We're getting people to think about making things from old materials: the car in this picture was made form old drinks cans.
We're also collecting old clothes for recycling, and mobile phones. These items will get money for the school, which will be used to fund our green activities. E.g. vegetable garden.
